Andi Giordullo

Director of Business Administration

Meet Andi

Meet Andi

Andi Giordullo was hired by The Lyon Group in 2017 to help keep our office running smoothly. Andi provides administrative support to The Lyon Group team through scheduling client meetings and follow up on service. She also oversees The Lyon Group’s day-to-day operations, bookkeeping, marketing, and compliance. You will often talk to Andi first when you call into the office. And, no doubt, you will find her smiling.

Andi earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Cincinnati and holds a Master’s degree in Human Services from Liberty University.

Andi has 20 plus years of experience serving small businesses and nonprofits in the areas of business administration and marketing. Her passion is helping others. She serves the community through her church and a local pregnancy center.

Andi grew up in Southern Ohio. Faith, Family, and Community have always been important parts of her life. Growing up, she spent many Sundays going to church with her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sunday dinners after church were a "given" with her family around the dinner table laughing and making memories that she still cherishes – cookouts, making homemade ice cream, bailing hay, 4H, and tractor trips up on the hill of her grandparents’ farm. Those memories have taught her to value the simple things in life. She shares those values with her two sons.

Away from her work at The Lyon Group, Andi and her husband, Chris, enjoy hiking in the outdoors with their rescue dog, Mazie. And the family traditions of spending time together are alive and well – especially with their 2 sons and granddaughter. Andi and her family are avid Cincinnati Bearcats fans, and you will find them supporting UC football every season.

Director of Client Services

Meet Joe

Meet Joy

Joy is a treasured employee who provides outstanding client service experiences and oversees the processing of new business. Her attention to detail and follow-through are especially noteworthy. Additionally, she supports Tony in our employee benefits efforts. She has worked alongside Tony for two decades.

Prior to that, she and her husband managed a financial services firm in South Africa. Her distinctive, professional accent is “the Voice of The Lyon Group” should you ever reach us after hours.

Joy is a "worldly woman" – at home in both hemispheres. A native of South Africa, Joy moved to the Cincinnati area from Johannesburg in 1994. Along with her husband, Greg, and daughter, Kelli, she has adopted the Greater Cincinnati as her home. And Joy is a traveler. She previously worked as an international flight attendant for a Luxembourg airline which allowed her to travel extensively in Europe. She still enjoys traveling and seeing the world. Aruba is an occasional destination. But her favorite vacation is spending time in South Africa on safari in a game reserve.

She and Greg live in Union Township where they enjoy spending her time with her family and grandchildren.

Barbara Lyon

Director of Quality Control

Although "nearly" retired, Barb continues to provide important insights to the firm. She served the Lyon Group in a variety of roles for more than twenty years. She helps us to hold ourselves accountable to our highest ideals as a firm and as team members. Barb has that great combination of "big-picture" perspective and appreciation of the importance of details.

She helped develop many of our procedures around human resources, branding, and consistency. We all rely on Barb for her ability to synthesize ideas and provide honest feedback.

Prior to her employment at The Lyon Group, Barb worked as a Landscape Architect. She holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Idaho and a master’s degree from the University of Illinois.

She is dedicated to both family and community and has served in several community leadership positions throughout the years. She lives in Anderson Township with her husband, Bill.

Barb grew up in upstate New York and later moved to North Carolina with her family. Her educational and career pursuits moved her to several other places. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Soil Science at the University of Idaho where she also worked for the US Forestry service. She earned her master’s degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Illinois. She then moved to Philadelphia where she helped design award-winning projects.

Another career move brought her to Cincinnati where a friend told her, "There’s a really nice guy at my church who you should meet." And there was! She and Bill married a few years later. A couple of years after that, she left the Landscape Architecture firm to work together with Bill at The Lyon Group.

Then, a couple of years after that, she found her favorite career as the mother of twin boys. While she remained involved at the Lyon Group, she was a fully engaged Mom. Den Mother, school volunteer, band booster, Sunday school teacher – she did it all. And still does. The boys are grown, so she has more free time to enjoy nature and travel with Bill in her "nearly retired" role.

Vice President of Thought Leadership

Meet Bill

Meet Bill

Bill serves as Vice President of Thought Leadership for the Lyon Group. He focuses on the strategic vision of the firm and thought leadership to transform our industry and our community. He is the creator of The Financial Navigation SystemSM and the Holistic Balance SheetTM and speaks nationally on financial and non-financial topics. Bill also still enjoys working directly with a select group of clients to develop retirement and estate plans that transcend financial issues.

"I’ve never actually had a real job," Bill says. "When you love what you do, when you feel like you’re making a difference in the lives of people, and when it brings you joy to do it … it’s hard to call it work." Bill has been "not working" in the career for over thirty-five years -- dedicated to the idea that resources and financial decisions should be aligned with what matters most.

Bill is among the most respected and credentialed financial professionals in the region. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from The Ohio State University and a Master of Science in Financial Services degree from The American College. He also holds five professional designations: CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, RICP® and CAP®.

Bill is probably known as much for his community service as for his "day job." He has served on numerous not-for-profit boards and chaired most of them over the years at one time or another.

Bill took over the reins of the firm in 1985 upon the unexpected death of our founder, Bob Lyon. "I was in college at the time – not sure how or where my life’s work would play out." He gained a healthy respect for the work of his father who helped clients prepare for the "what-ifs" of life. That experience inspires our work as we help other business owners and professionals prepare for the future. His late mother, Elinor, also worked alongside his father (and later Bill) in service to The Lyon Group’s clients.

Growing up in the small town of Georgetown, Ohio, Bill learned how to take ownership of his own actions and be of service to others. He had a fully booked calendar even back then. He played varsity baseball, sang in the church choir, performed in community theater productions, worked as a lifeguard, and became an Eagle Scout. Through all those activities, he caught the "servant-leader" bug. Community leadership became his preferred "hobby."

"Many of the coolest people I know are fellow board members and volunteers," Bill concedes. Whether as Cubmaster, Board Chair, or church lay leader, he considers "paying it forward" a sacred duty and a privilege.

Bill and his wife, Barb, are the parents of two terrific adult sons. They reside in Anderson Township.

Bob Nienaber, JD, ChFC®

President- Advisory Services and Wealth Advisor

Meet Bob

Bob is President and Advisor, working personally with our clients in their financial planning. He helps our clients navigate the complex waters of retirement, investments, insurance, taxes, estate planning and education funding and loans. He also takes an active role in the strategic vision and management of the firm.

Bob came to The Lyon Group in 2009 with this goal: to leverage his analytical skills and desire to "build" … to build meaningful, long-term relationships with clients and colleagues … to build real financial game plans, in a language clients understand that align their wealth with their values … to build on the foundation of an already successful, decades-old family business. And that’s what he’s done. And he’ll tell you that it’s a pretty cool way to make a living.

With an easy-going style and attention to detail, Bob works with medical professionals, executives, business owners, young families, and retirees with equal ease. His background brings a wealth of perspective to the firm and our clients. He earned his undergraduate degree in Finance and Management from the University of Kentucky and his Law Degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law (NKU), where he focused his studies in tax and estate planning. Prior to joining The Lyon Group, Bob worked in consulting for Nielsen.

Bob is active in his church and in the community, coaching youth basketball and having served as President of the Northern Kentucky / Greater Cincinnati UK Alumni Club. He lives in Anderson Township with his wife, Stacey, and their four daughters.

Basketball has been part of Bob Nienaber’s life for as long as he can remember. He has been playing and coaching for the better part of three decades and doesn’t plan on slowing down any time soon.

"My experiences with basketball provided me so much," Bob will tell you. "…lifelong friends, fun, family bonds, travel." Some of his favorite basketball memories are his first AAU national tournament in Salt Lake City, Utah, taking his Holy Cross High School team to the Kentucky All A Classic State Tournament after a Class A regional championship his senior year and watching his UK Wildcats win an NCAA Championship in New Orleans alongside his dad, brother, and future wife.

"I’ve learned a lot of valuable life skills from the game of basketball as well … preparation, self-sacrifice, hard work, communication, trust … how to be a team player, how to push yourself beyond your limits, how to win and lose well, and how to lead and follow."

Now Bob takes those same skills into his work, making sure his clients are well-prepared for their kids’ education and for retirement, ensuring families are taken care of whether things go according to plan or not, and building trust and camaraderie with clients and colleagues. He never forgets what the game of basketball has taught him and how it intersects with the rest of life off the court.

"My dad was my coach growing up. And it’s one of the reasons I chose this career – so I would have the autonomy to build my schedule so that I could coach my kids, attend the preschool Christmas pageant or be home for family dinner." Besides basketball, Bob’s other passions that you quickly learn about him are his family and his faith. He took his wife, Stacey, to the Holy Cross senior prom in 1999 and they have been together ever since. Now they have four strong, beautiful daughters.

You will still find Bob on the court, in a game at the Anderson HealthPlex or in a men’s league around town. Or maybe you’ll see him on the sidelines coaching one of his daughters’ teams. He enjoys teaching the game. He loves and building those same values of teamwork and servant leadership into young kids’ character, just as others built them into his.

Stacey Nienaber, JD

Director of Client and Professional Relationships

Meet Stacey

Meet Stacey

As a valued employee of the firm, Stacey helps develop and deepen relationships with our clients and with allied professionals. She arranges for unique events and speaking engagements for our partners. And she brings the "special touches" to staff and client engagement activities. None of this is surprising for someone who grew up in a family business. Stacey helped operate her family’s retail optical store where she learned the importance of understanding and anticipating the customers’ needs.

Stacey graduated from The University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Immediately following graduation, she attended Salmon P. Chase College of Law graduating in 2006 with her Juris Doctor. She also practiced law for several years focusing on estate planning, criminal defense, and personal injury.

After having her third daughter, Stacey joined her husband, Bob, at The Lyon Group. She is "back to her roots" developing client relationships in a family business. Stacey is often found planning fun events outside of the office, making connections and nurturing bonds between our clients, their family and friends and business associates. Since joining The Lyon Group, Stacey and Bob added a fourth daughter making them complete. Leah, Natalie, Emilia, and Ada are now part of The Lyon Group family.

Stacey is a nurturer, and she comes by it honestly. "I have a very long line of strong women in my family. We are hard-working, self-sacrificing, fun-loving ladies. My grandmother, 94, is our matriarch." Among her grandmother’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, there are 27 girls and 12 boys. In fact, of her great-grandkids 19 are girls and only 6 boys. Stacey provided four of those girls. Her grandmother continues to model the impact of a home-cooked meal, good conversation filled with mercy and grace and a little bit of fun on the side. She is not afraid of a hard-work and getting her hands dirty. "This is part of my DNA and I believe that the girls in our family will continue to spread this message for generations."

Asked to describe her perfect job, Stacey says, "I realized it would be to sit with someone, share a cup of coffee or a beer, and learn their story." There is nothing she enjoys more than authentic conversations. Stacey finds it humbling and exciting. "And I love to feed people. In my opinion nothing is better in life than a meal provided by someone else. My grandmother, my mother, my aunts, my cousins, and even our children have taught me this. In our home, our door is always open, and our table is always set."
